I found myself thinking this week if Esther had never left Mordecai’s house she would never have been Queen, she would never have saved her people.
I understand that she did not have a choice in leaving. Circumstances around her and in the world meant that she did not have an opportunity to choose, but as I thought on this, I realised that she did have a choice in some things.
She chose to be true to who she was, keeping her values and her beliefs. She also chose her attitude. Sure, she may not have been happy about leaving, and being taken away from all she had known, but she did not wallow in self pity
It was from here that her beauty shone through; gave her the ability to win hearts as she navigated through the unknown.
This had me thinking, how many times do we feel that we don’t have a choice? How many times to we feel robbed by circumstances that are completely out of our control?
How many times do we let our finances, our families, our friends, make us feel like we need to stay? How many times does our health stop us?
How often does fear stop us, or the feeling that we are trapped stop us? What if you cannot see what God is doing, and you actually cannot leave due to commitments that are completely out of your control?
What happens then?
That is when my favourite thing comes into to play… faith… Well, one of the coolest things as Christians we have.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
How is it to know that this world, formed at the word of God, was made by him, for us. To know we have the reassurance in him that his hand is always at work. To know that no matter what the circumstances are, God will always use it for his glory and he will always bring you through.
It is time to stop being afraid. It is time to stop letting the circumstances blind you from what is happening.
It is time to see beyond the natural and see into the world God sees. It is time to see beyond.
It is time to step into our Royal position.
It is time!
